Belonging

You are tired of performing belonging while still feeling outside your own life.

You may have become very good at being with other people.

Reading the room.

Knowing what is needed.

Making things comfortable.

Keeping things going.

And somewhere along the way, you lost track of yourself.

Your own needs.

Your own pace.

Your own body.

Your own yes.

Your own no.

You can be surrounded by people and still feel strangely outside your own life.

“I long, as does every human being, to be at home wherever I find myself.”
— Maya Angelou

WHAT I NOTICE WHEN YOU'VE LEFT YOURSELF

You bring your real life into the room.

You tell me what is happening.

I listen closely — not only to the story, but to what I can sense underneath it.

I notice where you disappear from yourself.

The moment you start talking about what everyone else needs.

The place where your body tightens.

How quickly you move away from a feeling.

The way you apologise before anyone has asked you to.

The parts of yourself you have learned to make smaller.

Sometimes you apologise to me before I've asked anything of you at all. That is often where we begin.

And sometimes, underneath all of it, there is something you already know:

You want to feel at home in yourself.

When I hear that, we stay with it.

WHY I KNOW THIS TERRITORY

I know this territory from the inside.

There was a version of me who could hold any room and still feel like a guest in her own life.

I didn't learn to come home to myself from a book. I found my own way back, slowly — the same way I walk this with you now.

BODY FIRST

Your body is the truest place you live.

Your feet on the ground.

The weight of you in the chair.

Your breath.

Your shoulders.

Your jaw.

Your eyes.

Are they resting deep in their sockets, or are they always looking for what comes next?

We slow the pace down enough to notice.

The breath can change too. From something you do without thinking, into something you allow through the whole body.

The whole breath.

The whole body.

We become more intimate with what is happening inside you — the places that soften, the places that brace, the places that want to move, and the places that need rest.

This is where we begin to cultivate the ability to feel yourself, recognise what is happening, and trust what your body is telling you.

Regulation belongs here too. Very much.

So do restoration, rest, grounding and softness.

Safety is created in the body.

From there, we choose practices that support what you are ready for — Yin, Yoga Nidra, breath, stillness, movement, or something more specific to this moment.

The practice serves the listening.

I NOTICE THE MOMENT YOU LEAVE

Because you will leave yourself again.

Someone needs something.

Someone is disappointed.

A relationship stirs something.

Work asks too much.

An old pattern takes over.

You are suddenly back outside yourself.

This is where we pay attention.

What happened just before you disappeared?

What did your body do?

What were you trying to protect?

What did you need?

When it happens, I stay with you long enough for you to feel what made you leave — and to discover that you don't have to disappear to be safe here.

There is no prize for getting through it quickly.

WHAT I AM PAYING ATTENTION TO

The places where you are still negotiating yourself away.

Where being good has become more important than being true.

Where caring for other people has quietly become leaving yourself.

Where your body has been trying to speak and you have been overriding it.

Where you are waiting for permission you could give yourself.

And I am watching for one more thing: the moment you come back.

A breath changes.

Your shoulders drop.

Your voice gets lower.

Your eyes soften.

Something in your face settles.

You stop looking outside yourself for the answer.

And when that happens, we notice it. We stay with it. We let the body register it.

This is how awareness becomes something you can return to.

This is how the small moments of coming home begin to become familiar.

THE WORK LEAVES THE ROOM

A conversation where you stay with yourself.

The moment you notice your shoulders rising and pause.

The time you say, “I need a break.”

The choice you make without checking it against everyone else's reaction.

The evening you realise you are tired and let yourself rest.

These moments matter.

This is where the work becomes part of your life.

What happens between sessions belongs to the work too.

Bring them back.

You can write to me when something important happens, when an old pattern catches you, or when you notice yourself responding differently. We can stay with it together.

OVER TIME

You know what it feels like to be here.

You recognise sooner when you have left.

You learn how to come back.

Again.

And again.

And again.

The body begins to recognise the way back.

Rest becomes less unfamiliar.

Softening becomes less of a decision.

You begin to notice what brings you closer to yourself — and what pulls you away.

You trust your yes more.

You hear your no sooner.

And slowly, through repetition, regulation, restoration and rest, something deeper begins to take root.

You are building a place inside yourself that you can return to.

That place becomes home.

You don't have to leave yourself in order to belong.

THE WAY WE WORK

This is private 1:1 work, held for a minimum of three months.

Before we begin, I'll send you a few questions to sit with. Your answers become the starting point of our work together.

We meet approximately fortnightly for two-hour sessions.

There is room between them for life to happen, for you to notice what is changing, and to bring those moments back into the work.

And actually, that is the whole point.

You can write to me between sessions when something important happens, an old pattern pulls you back, or you want to stay close to something we've touched together. Our correspondence is part of the work.

Sometimes the thing you notice between sessions is small — a tightening in your chest, the impulse to apologise, a no you almost overrode. Sometimes it is bigger. Either way, we can bring it back into the room.

The work has a clear structure, but it is not a script. We follow what is actually happening — what your body is showing you, what you are discovering, and what this part of your life is asking of you.

Sometimes the question changes. Sometimes what looked like one thing opens onto another. I stay close enough to notice that with you, and to know when it matters to follow it.

HOW TO BEGIN

I don't schedule sessions automatically through the website.

I want the first step to be human.

You can write to me and tell me a little about what is bringing you here — or simply what home doesn't feel like right now.

I read every enquiry myself, and give it the attention it deserves. You'll hear from me within 24 hours.

From there, we can feel into whether this is the right place for you.
